Therefore board for secondary education was established that is named as BISE Sargodha board stands for Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. Its main purpose is to conduct SSC and HSSC examination every year under fair policy. Sargodha board comes on 2nd number in whole punjab due to its formation and function and large number of students take part in it every year. Board tries to control bad functions and ill management of the examination neglecting favouritism. BISE Sargodha Board was established in 1968 under the ordinance number VII of 1968 it was under west Pakistan board that consisted of Sargodha and Multan and first ever exams were conducted in 1969. Its headquarter was shifted to 49-tail Sargodha in 1975.

In 1978 it separated BISE Rawalpindi board from it. Presently Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sargodha consist of following districts Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali and Bhakkar. BISE Sargodha board offers admission for matriculation 2 months before exams start but for intermediate its some different they start 3,4 months before exams start therefore providing students with time to register them selves. Forms are posted to affiliated institutions as well as online forms are also given on official website of the board for students who want to get registered from home. Syllabus is recommended by government and text books are printed from punjab text book board there are many changes made by board and government providing revised editions of books as new changes are made in the technology and science.

There are many groups and subjects at matric and intermediate level increasing diversity, groups at matric level are science and arts while at intermediate level they are pre medical, pre engineering, computer science, commerce, general science and arts. Examination for matric are held in the month of march while for intermediate they are held in the month of april papers are checked and marks evaluated within three months with fair marking after evaluation result for matric is announced in the month of July and for intermediate in the month of August.
